While there are times when our friend may take time to get a pun, we assume that artificial intelligence (AI) models would be clever enough to get all the jokes. However, it turns out that AI might have a harder time in understanding your puns even compared to that one dumb friend. The investigative team continued with additional wordplay, trying sentences such as "Long fairy tales have a tendency to dragon." Even when "dragon" was substituted with words like "prolong" or unrelated terms, the AI still labelled the sentences as containing a pun.
